The fisheries and aquaculture industries have become increasingly dependent upon large
amounts of plastic infrastructure and equipment, which can release MP over time.
The SMARTER project has assessed and modeled microplastic (MP) release from aquaculture structures, and has quantified the reduction in MP emissions by implementing feasible measures under relevant environmental conditions.
In this webinar, results from the research project will be presented.
